Haitian Girls' Boarding School
The project, an all-girls school in Haiti, was designed with the local environment in mind, as well as in response to the earthquake of 2012. The country suffers heavily from mudslides due to deforestation, as well as from hurricanes on an annual basis. Taking these factors into consideration, the overall design was based around the local "gingerbread" house structures due to their ability to absorb lateral forces. The design also heavily considers runoff, implementing it as the main, central feature of the site.

Analysis shows the industrial buildings (in brown) and the residential (in yellow) surrounding the site, as well as the natural water runoff on the site, which is utilized for site plumbing.

A section through the Reflection Pond shows its use. Collecting water drainage from the site, once it hits a certain level, it overflows into a storage tank below, used for gray water plumbing.
