21st Century Library
The 21st Century Library envisioned what the library could be. With the rise of the digital age, books are not as necessary. This project was located in the retail district of Savannah, GA on West Broughton Road adjacent to Telfair Square. What I created forms a passage between the retail realm of W. Broughton St. and the Civic nature of Telfair Square, uniting the two with the library. Being conscious of the site was also important with the existing facade of a 19th century building being kept with the design. The end result is the notion of the library as a place to unite the old and the new as well as the retail and the cultural.
